[00:13.62]Dear Sir, I wri...
[00:13.62]Dear Sir, I write this note to you to tell you of me plight
[00:24.06]and at the time of writing, I am not a pretty sight;
[00:27.96]me body is all black and blue, me face a deathly gray
[00:32.91]and I write this note to say why Paddy's not at work today.
[00:38.58]While working on the fourteenth floor some bricks I had to clear;
[00:43.23]now, to throw them down from such a height was not a good idea.
[00:47.61]the foreman wasn't very pleased, he beeing an awkward sod
[00:51.72]he said I'd have to cart them down the ladders in me hod.
[00:55.92]Now, clearing all these bricks by hand it was so very slow,
[01:01.05]so I hoisted up a barrel and secured the rope below.
[01:05.70]But in me haste to do the job I was to blind to see
[01:10.83]that a barrelful of building bricks was heavier than me.
[01:15.84]So when I untied the rope the barrel fell like lead
[01:19.83]and clinging tightly to the rope I started up instead.
[01:24.12]Well, I shot up like a rocket till to my dismay I found
[01:29.13]that halfway up I met the bloody barrel comming down.
[01:34.35]Well, the barrel broke me shoulder as to the ground it sped,
[01:38.73]and when I reached the top I banged the pully with my head.
[01:43.14]Well, I clung on tight through numbed shock from this almighty blow
[01:48.12]and the barrel spilled out half the bricks fourteen floors below.
[01:52.98]Now, when these bricks had fallen from the barrel to the floor
[01:58.17]I then outweighed the barrel and so started down once more;
[02:02.94]still clinging tightly to the rope, I sped towards the ground,
[02:07.59]and I landed on the brocken bricks that were all scattered round.
[02:12.30]Well, I lay there groaning on the ground, I thougth I'd passed the worst,
[02:18.12]when the barrel hit the pully-wheel and then the bottom burst.
[02:22.50]Well, a shower of bricks rained down on me, I hadn't got a hope
[02:27.60]as I lay there moaning on the ground, I let go of the bloody rope.
[02:34.11]The barrel than being heavier, it started down once more,
[02:38.79]and landed right across me, as I lay upon the floor.
[02:43.80]Well, it broke three ribs and my left arm and I can only say
[02:49.50]that I hope you'll understand why Paddy's not a work today
